Congratulation!

Kuching High Red Crescent Youth Unit had successfully representing Kuching Chapter in participating the Interchapter First Aid Competition 2009. A team consisting of 5 members had performed very well in this competition and be awarded for our performance. We had achieved:
  • BEST BANDAGING AND IMMOBOLISATION RELAY
  • BEST TEST SCENARIOS
  • OVERALL CHAMPION

As for becoming the Champion team in this competition, the team from Kuching High Red Crescent Youth unit has been selected to represent Sarawak Branch to participate in the National level competition which will be held in the end of May at Negeri Sembilan.

We would like to take this opportunity to thanks Kuching Chapter, the Kuching High School, all the teachers-in-charge of Kuching High Red Crescent Youth Unit, ex-leaders and those who have directly or indirectly in giving us proper guidance and advise to go through this competition.

Kuching High Red Crescent Camp 2008 Report

Kuching High School Red Crescent Youth Unit is organising a state level camp from the 18th to 22nd December 2008 at Pusat Kokurikulum Santubong. There are all together 72 participants from all over Sarawak participating in this camp.

The main objectives for this camp are to instill leadership qualities, discipline and teamwork among the participants from Kuching Chapter, Stampin Chapter, Sibu Chapter, Bintulu Chapter and Miri Chapter and also to share experience and knowledge among Red Crescent Youth Members from different chapters in Sarawak. Besides, this camp also aims to foster better understanding and friendship among Red Crescent Youth Members in Sarawak. Other than the objectives, we had also set a camp theme for this camp, which is “Feel the nature, generate the mature”. Throughout this camp, every participant is expected to obtain valuable knowledges and unforgettable experiences from the unique nature.

We had divided the 72 particpants into 8 groups. The group name was named after some famous flowers names which are closed to our theme. These group names are, Brunsvigia, Canarina, Canna, Eranthis, Pogonia, Geranium, Lavender and Gardenia. Many excited and fun activities had been designed for all the participants, among these activities are Tent Pitching, Station Games, Friendship Night, Backwood Cooking, Nuclear Bomb, Quiz Bee, Treasure Hunt, Fear Factors and etc. All these activities are specially designed to let the participants enjoy and also to train them to become a better person in the future.

For the opening and closing ceremony, YB Dr. Abang Haji Abdul Rauf Abang Haji Zen on behalf of the chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent Kuching Chapter was invited to officiate both the opening and closing ceremony of this camp. However, YB Dr. Abang Haji Abdul Rauf Abang Haji Zen was not be able to present these two ceremonies and Mr. Mathies Tonjen was sent as his representative.

We will also like to take this opportunity to thank Malaysian Red Crescent Kuching Chapter, Malaysian Red Crescent Sarawak Branch, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri, Pusat Kokurikulum Santubong , Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) of SMK Kuching High, teacher advisors of Kuching High School Red Crescent Youth Unit, Kuching City Scout Council No.5, Wecare Bakery, The Learning Centre, Samfah Enterprise, Quantum Tech Enterprise, all the ex-leaders and Form 5 leaders of Kuching High School Red Crescent Youth Unit for their heartiest supports and sponsors to make this camp a success.

the Ohana Camp 2008


On the last Sunday to Tuesday (16th - 18th October 2008), Kuching High School Red Crescent Youth Unit had successfully organised the Ohana Camp 2008 at Damai Beach Resort. We have all together 50 people to join this camp which are 22 committees and 28 members.


The main objective for this camp is to reinforce the relationship among our members and let our members to have some fun and learning session. Many acitivities had been carried out to fulfill these objecitives. Those activities are I am a Sand Builder, I am a Genius, Vision under the Star, the O-file, fish¬O¬fisher and so on.


Besides, the organising committees had also decided to divide the members into 4 groups, which are group Icky Icky Ba Ba, group Miki Miki Coconut, group Summer and group Dragon's Fire. All the groups' name were named after discussion by each group before the camp. Each group had been assigned with 2 form 4 ushers to ensure members' safety and discipline.

Marching Course 2008

Inter-Section Marching Course 2008

On 25 October 1, 2 and 9 November 2008, Kuching High Red Crescent Youth Unit had organized "Inter-Section Marching Course 2008" at SMK Kuching High. 168 members from our unit have joined this course.

The objective of the course is to enhance the marching standard among our unit members. Besides, the objective of the course is to instill discipline and team spirit among the participants. This course is also to foster better relationship among our unit members.

During this course, armies from Battalion Pertama Perubatan had invited to teach our unit members and leaders the correct marching skills. Our unit members and leaders have gained a lot of knowledge from experience armies through out this course. Besides, armies are the judges for the marching competition that held on 9 November. There are three categories for this competition: Old Members Senior Team, Old Members Junior Team and New Members Team. Every section from our unit has sent out one team of the members to compete for each category.
